Go to "Uiro

Odawara, where I landed for the first time in decades.

Well, since I had come all this way, I decided to walk from Odawara Station to Odawara Castle in mid-September, when it was still hot.

The white walls and black stone walls against the blue sky were beautiful. However, I didn't have the courage and energy to climb up to the castle tower, so I looked at the city map to see what I should do.

Uiro Co., Ltd. is a long-established company that manufactures and sells medicines and Japanese sweets. It is one of the oldest and most famous of the long-established stores, famous also for the Kabuki play "Uiro Uri" (Uiro Seller).

What a magnificent storefront!

When you enter the store, you will see a variety of sweets including Uiroi in the front. To the right is a coffee shop, and at the far left side of the store, medicines are sold.

I bought "Uirou" and "Gokanto" which seems to be good for gynecological problems.

Now, let's see, UIRO is a famous confectionery, but of course, the confectionery Uiro is also famous. In fact, it is a confectionery and a medicine made by the Uiro family, so both are called "Uiro".

The medicine Uiro is a family herbal medicine brought from the continent, Tochin-ko is the original name of the medicine. However, because it was difficult to read "Tochin-ko", it came to be called "Uiro" as a medicine of the Gairo family.

Although not as small as Rokushingan, each grain is still smaller and easier to swallow than modern Western medicines. It is an all-purpose medicine with a wide range of effects, including stomachache, diarrhea, stomachache, headache, dizziness, cough, and so on.

Yes, we also have Rokushinganfrom Kameda Risaburo Yakuho in the medicine section where we sell Uiro and Gokayu. Uiro, Rokushingan, and other Chinese herbal and home remedies that have been used in Japan for a long time have been taken for a long time and have a sense of security. We would like to pass them on to future generations.
